Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

1. Purpose

Shugoi is a third-party abuse and fraud prevention service. Customers integrate our guard.js script on their sites to protect offers and user journeys against circumvention. The precise detection mechanisms are not published in order to preserve their effectiveness.

Technical signals are evaluated by Shugoi exclusively for security and anti-fraud purposes. The applicable GDPR roles depend on the integration and the customer's documented instructions.

2. Service Access

Access to Shugoi is via a siteKey assigned to each client. The client is responsible for the confidentiality of their siteKey.

The service is provided on a monthly subscription basis (see our terms and conditions of sale ).

3. Script Usage

The guard.js script is provided as embeddable. It can be integrated into any website whose origins are authorized in the siteKey configuration.

It is forbidden to modify, disassemble or attempt to bypass the script, use it to identify natural persons, or resell it without authorization.

4. Data and Privacy

Shugoi uses cookies limited to authentication, security challenges and short-lived authorisations. Technical identifiers are pseudonymised and retained for up to 13 months after last activity.

See our privacy policy for more details.

5. Liability

Shugoi is provided 'as is'. The publisher cannot be held responsible for a lack of protection due to inappropriate use of the service or unforeseen technical bypass.

6. Partial Nullity

If any clause of these Terms is declared null or unenforceable, the other clauses remain in effect.

7. Disputes and Mediation

Any dispute relating to the use of Shugoi shall be subject to French law. Failing amicable settlement, the competent courts will be those of the Rennes Court of Appeal.

For an offer addressed to consumers, the details of Shugoi's appointed consumer mediator will be published before any subscription. During the open beta, complaints may be sent to [email protected].

8. Applicable Law and Language

These Terms are governed by French law. In case of translation, only the French version prevails.
